Products Shaffa | What is personal protective equipment (PPE)?
 Quick Links

Personal protective equipment is described as an item of equipment or a resource that is designed to be worn or held by a person, as a protection against one or more hazards, which can be a threat to the health or safety of that person.

For professional use, the employer usually provides PPE devices, and their use is obligatory. In the case of non-professional use, It is the customer who decided himself. In this instance, advice and the packaging play an important role in properly informing the customer.

For the do-it yourself handyman, too, an appropriate protection is of great importance. More and more clarification is given about wearing appropriate protective devices, while using mechanical and electrical tools. Furthermore, work with chemical substances, paints, lacquers and lubricants can sometimes also pose substantial hazards.

They must, if they meet these standards, carry a CE Mark on the gloves or their packaging when it is not practical.
